Fr. Carl was born on June 10, 1970. He met the Dominicans as a junior at De La Salle High School in Concord, CA where the chaplain was a Dominican. He attended St. Mary's College of California for two years, where he studied in the Great Books program. He entered the novitiate in September 1990. Besides the Bay area, Fr. Carl has also served at the University of Utah Newman Center in Salt Lake City and at St. Mary's Church in Piscataway, MD. He is interested in early Christian writings, the Orthodox-Catholic dialog and mathematics. His first assignment in the Western Dominican Province is to St. Dominic's Parish in Eagle Rock, California where he also serves as Director of Campus Ministry for Occidental College. He will pursue further studies and is investigating the possibility of working with the Dominicans in Russia and Ukraine.
