Fr. Steven was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. A forth generation Japanese-American, he met the Dominicans while attending the University of Washington where they run the Catholic campus ministry. Upon graduating with a degree in architecture in 1990, he entered the novitiate. Fr. Steven's first assignment in the Western Dominican Province is St. Dominic's Parish in San Francisco.
