In a very general
way, here is an account of the day's significant events.
5:00 PM
We gathered for Evening Prayer in the chapel and prayed the Office of the Dead. We
prayed the office as normal, with one exception. After the Scripture reading, we
prayed for the deceased of the Province since the last Provincial Chapter in 1999.
Individual readings from the Lives of the Brethren were read. Fr. Fabian
Parmisano, OP read the entry for the deceased Fr.
Gerard William Ehler, OP. Fr. Paul Scanlon, OP read the entry for deceased Br. Robert Henry Lavigne, OP. Lastly,
Fr. Emmerich Vogt, OP read the entry for the deceased Fr. Christopher Hugo Moschini, OP.
7:30 PM
The Chapter members prayed, and then the testimonials for the attending delegates were
verified by the three eldest members of the Chapter. The Secretaries were appointed,
and the herbarium was approved. Later, Fr. Edward Ruane, Prior Provincial of the
Central Province provided the first of four talks. |
