device this page is intended just for you. Please share this
information with others in your location as this information will be
very beneficial.
Check a SonicWall Rating
This link takes you directly to SonicWall, so you can see why a site
is being blocked. Here you can request a change of status, if
needed. It generally takes 24 hours or less to have a change
completed.

What kind of content do we block?
Generally, material that is inappropriately sexual, e.g.
pornographic, or illegal.
I checked my website, and it shouldn't be blocked?
Are you really sure? Sometimes the area of the site you are
trying to access is not objectionable, but other areas could contain
offensive material. This is very common with blogs, forums,
and other sites that offer many services. If you could access
the site, you could read their TOS (Terms of Service), and see if
they do indeed allow offensive material. But being blocked
that's impossible. Here are some of the common reasons for
being blocked and what to do.
- Correct rating and it is also offensive material
If you have a legitimate reason to be accessing offensive
material, please make your request to have the administrator
override the block for you.

- Incorrect rating
You've clicked the above link and discovered your rating seems
incorrect. Click the 'Rating Request' link and suggest a
new rating. It will generally take less than 24 hours for
the request to be addressed. You will receive an email
keeping you up to date on it.
- Rating seems harmless
Even though the rating seems harmless, there are three reasons
you may be blocked.
- There is risky AtiveX or Java code on the website you
are trying to access. Risky code can open a huge
security hole for you to be infected with viruses, adware,
malware, key loggers, and other bad things. The
SonicWall will try its best to protect you when it
encounters risky code. You can request from the
administrator (email link above) to override the block, so
you can take your chances.
- There is a temporary glitch at SonicWall.com that is not
letting you access the site.
This is the most common reason, and it usually
resolves itself within minutes. Be sure to try again
by refreshing/reloading your browser. If you don't
know how to refresh your browser, you can as a second option
close the browser down and open it again.
- There is glitch with the SonicWall device in your
physical location and it needs to be reset. This is
almost never the case, but each device usually needs
resetting about once or twice a year. You can request
from the administrator (email link above) to reset the
SonicWall.
I need a site blocked, it is offensive.
Sometimes we encounter sites that need blocking. If this
is the case, use the same link above for checking a rating, and then
submit a rating change with it. |
