Br. Thienan Tran, OP
I'm Brother Thien An Tran, O.P. I was born in South Vietnam on March 29, 1971.
I came to the United States with my entire family on October 18, 1994. I had been
living in San Jose about seven years before I entered religious life and became a
Dominican. I love God and people. I perceive that God is always generous to
me, and always listens and answers my cry. I love God and His people. I love to serve Him,
and His people everyday. Everybody wants to love, and wants to be loved. One of the
reasons that I joined the Dominicans was that I experienced LOVE from the Dominican
Community when I visited the Vietnamese Vicariate in Calgary (Canada) in the Summer of
2001. Indeed, I immediately recognized that God had called me to live this life. My
novitiate year was in 2001, and it took place at St.
Albert's Priory (Oakland). I love the weather, environment, and the food here. Nothing
is perfect, but God Himself. In general, I'm happy with my life now. If somebody were to
ask me, "What is most important in your life?", I would say, "LOVE &
PRAYER." LOVE is JESUS, and PRAYER is PEACE.
