Br. Matthew Raymond Lord, OP
Raymond Lord was born in Marshall, Minnesota, on May 25, 1910. He received his
education in that same town, and in Roberts County, South Dakota. On August 4, 1940,
he received the Habit of a cooperator brother in the Priory of the Immaculate Conception,
Ross, California, and made first profession at St.
Alberts College, Oakland, on August 5, 1941. His solemn profession was
made at the same priory on August 5, 1947.
During the subsequent years he worked
faithfully in our houses in Oakland, Kentfield, Seattle, Thousand Oaks, and Los
Angeles. He was especially remembered for his many years as cook at the novitiate in
Kentfield. He died at St. Alberts College on June 14, 1969, and is buried in
St. Dominics Cemetery, Benicia.
