Fr. Fabian Stan Parmisano, O.P.
Stanley was born in Daly City on June 11, 1926 to Alma and Anthony Parmisano. After attending local parochial schools and Saint Mary's College of California, he entered the Order of Preachers and professed first vows on September 10, 1948, receiving the name Fabian. He earned a Ph.D. in English Literature from Cambridge University, and after his ordination on June 12, 1953, served the people of God in a number of roles.
In addition to teaching at Notre Dame College in Belmont and at Saint Albert's College, he was an itinerant preacher, Master of Students, a beloved counselor, confessor and author. He published many books, including: Dominican Relevance, as well as The Craft of Love: Love and Intimacy in Christian Marriage, and Mission West: The Western Dominican Province, a detailed account of the province's history between 1850-1966.
Fr. Fabian died on June 18, 2009.
