Statement on the Election of Fr. Allen Moran, O.P., as Prior Provincial of the Eastern Dominican Province

It was announced today that, effective immediately, Fr. Allen Moran, O.P., President of our Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology (DSPT), having been elected and confirmed, is Prior Provincial of the Eastern Dominican Province (Province of St. Joseph).

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Fr. Allen on this momentous occasion and wish him all the best as he embarks on this new chapter in his service to the Lord.

Fr. Allen’s new appointment means he can no longer serve as President of the DSPT. While we are saddened to lose such a talented leader and friend in Fr. Allen, we are happy our brothers in the east have gained such a great friar to guide their work for the salvation of souls.

The Western Dominican Province will work to identify an interim President for the DSPT and begin the process of searching for a new President.
