A Year of Jubilees
Jubilees for the Church and the Province
Throughout 2025, the Western Dominican Province has the joy of celebrating two milestones: first, a Year of Jubilee in the Church, as proclaimed by Pope Francis; and second, the 175th jubilee of the Western Dominican Province.
The motto of the Church's Year of Jubilee is Peregrinantes in Spem, "Pilgrims of Hope." And the Province's 175th anniversary is as much a hopeful look to the future as it is a remembrance of God's providence throughout our past. This connection between the universal and provincial jubilees is symbolized by the image of the "Anchor of Hope," found in one of the stained glass windows in our house of studies The Priory of St. Albert the Great.

2025 marks the 175th anniversary of our founding members' arrival in the American West. We mark this milestone year as a Jubilee for the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus.
Throughout the year, we will be highlighting moments and ministries from the history of the Western Dominican Friars. And, we will be looking with hope to the future as we reflect on new ways of sharing the fruits of our contemplation in the Western United States.

Every 25 years, the Church celebrates an Ordinary Year of Jubilee. Above all else, such occasions are dedicated to remission of sins and rejoicing.
Through the celebration of particular groups within the Church, pilgrimages, and indulgences, this year is a wonderful opportunity to rekindle the spirit of Christian hope.
