St. Cecilia Music Festival

Saint Cecilia is one of the most venerated martyrs in all of Christian antiquity and has been honored by Christians throughout the world for centuries.

From July 21-23, Blessed Sacrament Church in Seattle will be honoring this third century saint and patron of music with a series of concerts featuring works by Vivaldi, Bach, Purcell, Mozart and many others!

On July 21, renown organist James David Christie, of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, will perform numerous masterpieces from the Baroque period on the Fritts-Richards pipe organ at St. Alphonsus Church.

Blessed Sacrament will then host additional concerts on July 22 and 23 featuring Blessed Sacrament's Schola Cantorum and Baroque Orchestra.
Friday's concert will include Vivaldi's Gloria in D, Handel's The Water Music, Bach's Sonata for Viola, and Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate.

Saturday's concert features Vivaldi's Stabat Mater and "Summer" concerto from The Four Seasons, as well as Handel's Coronation Anthem #2, Purcell's Ode to St. Cecilia, and Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusic.
